Innertkirchen, Bernese Oberland

Engstlenalp - Kraftort

On the old mule track from Innertkirchen up to the idyllic Engstlensee.

Deep blue Engstlensee is one of the most popular destinations for excursions in the Bernese Oberland. Engstlenalp is a special place of power and has become mythical. You will need "the power" for this tour. The edged mule tracks taking you from Innertkirchen through Gental to the lake are not at all easy. Only muscle power and technical skill will take you to a landscape of unique beauty.

Habkern, Bernese Oberland

Grünenbergpass

Thrilling tour through the green forests of Hohgant.

The starting point for this magnificent biking circuit lies in a quiet, pretty valley fairly close to the hustle and bustle of Interlaken. That said, the route from Habkern around the Hohgant is quite challenging. The Grünenberg Pass forms the first obstacle of the day. Aptly named the "Green Mountain Pass", it is packed full of lush meadows and lofty green forests. After pedalling through the idyllic resort of Kemmeriboden-Bad, you can prepare yourself for the final uphill. Once there, high up in the hills, you will be rewarded by views of the superb countryside where the River Emme has its source. The tour ends with a "technical" downhill that takes you back to Habkern.

Reichenbach, Bernese Oberland

Kiental

The mountain biking excursion to the picturesque Kien Valley
The Kien Valley, famous for its charming landscape, is one of the Kander Valley's large adjacent valleys. A gradient of 28% has to be tackled on the way to Griesalp. It's almost unfathomable that even a post bus runs up here. Apart from the gradient, the Kien Valley tour is not particularly demanding. There is plenty of opportunity to enjoy the picturesque landscape. The silhouette of the Blüemlisalphorn, capped with snow and ice, looms in the upper part of the valley at the horizon. Deep canyons and wonderful forests define the rest of this tranquil valley.
